1. Preshow -- Somewhere in Time

[Before the show begins, the audience is brought into the world
of EFX with "Somewhere in Time". The entire theatre is bathed in clouds
being projected onto the stage and the walls.]

Where there is time, there is tomorrow,

All sorrows pass to memories,
And so the end is the beginning.
Somewhere in Time,
We are as we're meant to be,

The circle yearns to be complete,

2. NEXUS

[EFX introduces a new character, The EFX Master played by Michael Crawford. 
He brings forth several special effects masters. The Master of Magic, 
the Master of Laughter, the Master of the Spirit World and the Master of Time.
Together, they will lead us into scenes from each world as the EFX master 
takes on the identity of a famous master.]

EFX Master: The time is now,
Your journey is just beginning,
Reality and fantasy join in this moment,
You have entered the gates of our world,
Travelling through time and space,
This corridor of mystery, enchantment, and limitless power,
It is a world where all imagination dwells,
it is the world of EFX.
Others: Omi nus, spirito, aaaaa, amnea, aminaes, amnaes

EFX Master: I am,
Others: I am, the unifying light,
The deep and shining of it near and far, I am,

People passing near them quickly learn to fear them,
Every hour will hear them start to chime,

Master of Laughter: I'm the cure for melancholy,

3. EFX

EFX Master: There's a world beyond reality,
A place of light and dark,
A world beyond infinity,
A realm of mind and heart,
It's a shadow world of fantasy upon which dreams are born,
A kingdom where illusion's given light and sound and form!

4. Merlin

[The EFX Master transforms himself into Merlin, the great master
of magic from medieval times. The audience is whisked into a whimsical
world of fairies and sprites to the magic that exists all arounf us in
each and every day. Then we are witness to a chilling encounter with Morgana
the evil sorceress.
Merlin is teaching a young King Arthur about magic.]

The Magic That Surrounds You

Merlin: The magic that's around you,
The magic that surrounds you,
Is a kind of magic you're the very heart of!
It's the magic in the trees, the magic on a breeze,
It's the magic of the world which you're a part of,
Open your eyes boy, open your heart and soul,

Arthur and Merlin: Everyday...

[Morgana, the evil sorceress arrives. Arthur is captured by her
men. The two wizards duel and Morgana turns into a dragon. Merlin transforms
into a larger dragon and he destroys Morgana.]

5. P.T. Barnum

[Into the Future-The EFX Master and the Master of Laughter catapult
the audience into the future for a visit with aliens from strange worlds
as the circus comes to town...
The EFX Master becomes P.T. Barnum of the future, who with dozens
of splendid alien cicus performers excites you with daring feats which
tickle your funny bone as well. The circus arrives in a large space craft.
P.T. Barnum exists first to introduce himself and...]

P.T. Barnum: Ladies and Gentleman, Boys and Girls of Mithra!
I, P.T. Barnum, proprietor of the greatest traveling show in the galaxy,
Now bring you the one, the only, the incredible
Intergalactic show of wonders!
Circus: Coming to you from beyond the stars,
Arriving direct from Venus and Mars,
The Intergalactic show of the stars...
Step right out, one and all to the biggest show of all,
It's the Intergalactic Circus of Wonders,
Step right out, come on in, we've been waiting to begin,
It's the Intergalactic Circus of Wonders,
From the deepest parts of space, we traverse from place to place,
With the most fantastic, happyeverastic show,
Step right out, one and all to the grandest show of all,

Tent poles up, banners out, give a cheer and give a shout,

[This is followed up with various circus acts. There is an amazing
aerobic act involving a small group of very talented performers. There
is a Greatest Showman in the Universe number honoring P.T. Barnum as well
an Irish jig led by him. It ends in a grand finale of the circus.]


6. Houdini

[The EFX Master and the Master of the Spirit World lure the audience
into the realm between heaven and hell where spirits might shed light on
the mystery of Houdini. His death (drowning during an escape act) is mentioned
as the stage opens onto a seance. Harry's wife Bess holds a seance yearly
on the anniversary of her husband's death in an attempt to contact him.
This time it succeeds.
The EFX Master, as Harry Houdini, is conjured up in the illusory
world of spirits and we are treated to a retrospective of Harry's greatest
moments defying logic and the senses, overshadowed only by the love between
Harry and his wife Bess.]

Tonight

Houdini: Don't be sad for me,
Everything is how it had to be,
Don't be angry,
Just be the way you were tonight,
Don't ask why or how,
Don't ask more of me than I am now,
Can't we just be the way we always were tonight,
Don't be afraid, don't be surprised,
I know with me you never could believe your eyes,
But I've come back, I swear it's true,
I can't escape this need to be with you,
To keep you safe and in my sight,
And I would die again for more than just tonight,
Bess: Love won't make it right,
Love won't hold me when it's late at night,

7. H. G. Wells

[The Master of Time, moves us on to the dimension that intrigues,
taking the EFX Master into the paradoxical world of time travel as he transforms
himself into the legendary H. G. Wells. The Master of Time convinces Wells
to try his new time machine. The audience is told to put on their 3D glasses
and they are shown a journey through history--]

Counting up to Twenty

H.G. Wells: The road we travelled on,
Has never been the one of least resistance,
We've made it through the years,
The agony and tears by sheer persistence,
To the edge of a brave new world,
Counting up to twenty has been difficult for some,
But as we learn to count to twenty,
Should be easy to get to twenty-one,
A hundred years ago, we really start to show off our invention,
We acquired the clout, to take each other out was our intention,
It's amazing we're all still here,
Counting up to twenty has been difficult for some,
But as we learn to count to twenty,
Should be easy to get to twenty-one,
Call me a fool, but I'm a fool with a heart,
I'm an optimistic man, I believe we can make it,
Even though I don't always sleep at night,
Waiting for the light to come and wake me,
My thoughts are with the young,
They must be the ones to come save me,
We just have to let them breathe
Counting up to twenty, could be difficult for some,

[H.G. Wells is transported into an exotic primitve world of the
future. He encounters the threating Morlocks who steal his time machine.
He witnesses their treatment of their slaves. In an action packed escape,
he defeats the Morlocks and escapes with one of the slave girls. They escape
through an erupting volcano.]


8. Finale

[The EFX Master brings it all and the audience back together
for a grand celebration of the human imagination; the uniting theme of
this, our world... The world of EFX.]

EFX Master: There's a world beyond reality,
A place of light and dark,
A world beyond infinity,
A realm of mind and heart,
It's a shadow world of fantasy,
Upon which dreams are born,
A kingdom where illusion's given light and sound and form,
Others: Ominaes, omnaes, enta, enta, fugo, bayeshu, ominaes...
EFX Master: A world of mystery,
Of stories yet untold,
A bright and shining tapestry of dreams yet to unfold,
An amazing ride through space and time,
That stirs your very soul,

The finale dance begins with the entire cast.
